Nope. Way different.
Airbox on the TDI is pretty good for what it is. Better off putting a decent filter in it, and calling it quits at that. No gains to be had from changing the airbox itself.
Hey just wanna confirm.
Someone told me that the gti intake set up is the same as gt sport tdi. So if I buy a cold air induction for a gti, will it fit my gt sport tdi?

Fitment wise it will fit if it's for the same model
Sound wise you might get some fancy noise
Performance wise you'll gain a few HPs(more top speed) and lose a few NMs(less drivability) for exchange, overall it's not much of difference
If you are after the sound, go for it
If you want more performance gain, spend your money elsewhere. ie.get a dump pipe or get a tune or both

To be specific, the MKV GTI and MKV GT TDI intakes are identical to the MAF. Any MKV GTI intake that is to the MAF only will fit, and give you a nice noise gain, which will make you think it is more powerful. It's a fun mod to do, and I'll be doing it to my latest car despite the fact there is little if any gain.

I have a BMC carbon intake on my GT Sport TDI and I dare say it spools a little easier at off the line, which makes hill starts a touch easier but that's it
Is there any cheap options that is good? What do you guys have?
