Yeah cool. Only problem with 1/4 mile and 0-100 if you break traction readings will not be accurate. It's not like a G-Tech in that respect.

And now onto a performance/driveability mod. Looky-looky, what do we have here?

    SPRINT BOOSTER

    Before Installation

What is a Sprint Booster? Well in a nutshell it's a piece of plastic that plugs into your accelerator pedal connector behind the accelerator pedal itself.

At first I must admit that I was a bit skeptical but I purchased it anyway.

Yeah, but what does it do? It turns your car into the beast that it should be. It does this by increasing your cars throttle responsiveness by reducing the DriveByWire (DBW) delay, and boy what a good job it does.

It will NOT make your car faster but it will make it an absolute pleasure to drive. It almost feels like your car has been tuned when it really hasn't. Don't know why Volkswagen wouldn't have the car performing like this straight out of the factory?

More information can be found here Sprint Booster

I'm not going to post installation pics because installation is that easy it's a joke. PLUG AND PLAY HARD.

IMHO, this has been the best bang for buck mod to date. But don't take my word for it. Another member from the "other" Volkswagen forum said:

Not having a Sprint Booster is like chopping off your right foot. Agreed.

Another member named it the Evil Black Plastic. Also agree.

Don't have one? For F*#K sake, buy it, plug it in and enjoy!!!

    Now for some wank factor....

I was intending on going down the APR path with their carbon induction system like so many others have done, however I had completely forgotten that I had a BMC CDA (Carbon Dynamic Airbox) laying around which I had taken out of my Liberty when I first purchased it.

The BMC CDA is very similar to the modshack in design but has the added bonus of some carbon goodness. Also it's worth twice the price of the modshack and roughly the same price as the APR intake.

Performance gains? Probably nothing gained however there is an increase in the induction noise and also the wastegate is now more audible. Some people have noticed turbo spooling earlier but I can't really say that I've noticed this at all.

Street Cred? Definitely looks the part in the engine bay. +++

Installation? Install was quite straight forward. Obviously the stock airbox had to be completely removed. The only modification you need is to drill a hole for the vacuum hose in between the MAF and intake and stick an irrigation spike into the piece of hose. This unit comes with a mounting bracket, so you will need to find a suitable position to attach it to. I opted to use one of the mount points from where the standard airbox was attached.

Cool, did you manage to get a nice seal between that rubber hose in front of the airbox and the air-inlet in the grille? I seem to recall that Greg had to make something up for that which he did with Carbon Fibre.

Negative. I just cut the piece of silicon hose to get as close as I could to the inlet in the grille.

Yeah, I noticed quite a difference between "as small a gap as possible", and then building a sealed to the outside lid. Massive difference after idling at the lights, which is where I noticed it the most. Seal it to the outside as much as you can mate, but yeah, it's a nice bit of kit!
