Cool stuff, dude.
I'll keep my eye on this as I've got a Caddy 1.9TDI and it's always interesting to see what the Polo TDI dudes are doing with theirs..
Just jumping on the band wagon of people posting the build threads of their diesels.
Story of the car:
I started a new business in 2009 and needed a new car urgently as I was driving a borrowed R31 Skyline as my current car at the time really wasn't suitable for daily driver duties. With the distance I was travelling I was paying around about $200 in petrol each week and the search for a new car that was fuel effecient, comfortable and reliable was on.
End of March I signed a deal with Springwood VW to collect a brand new November 2008 build Plate Polo TDI with the optional black metallic paint and safety pack. (It was in the yard otherwise I wouldn't of worried about the safety pack)
I run between the Gold Coast and Brisbane for work and the surrounding suburbs, IN the year I had put over 70,000km on the clock and was loving the car, in that time I started having a look at getting an ecu flash done and exploring TDI Club. What a mistake that was, well perhaps not a mistake just a fantastic way to spend more money Around about that time I decided to start doing a few little things to make it my own and a little unique, things quickly spiralled out of control as per usual with any of the cars I own. Even after many assurances to my girl friend I wouldn't really modify it.
Pics from when I first picked it up:
Trip down to Sydney
Anyway back to the figures. End of November I performed the mufflerectomy (removed the rear muffler) I thought it made a tiny change in performance. On 12/12/2009 I took it down to the drag strip at Willowbank and ran a 16.89 @ 79mph.
Shortly after that (beginning of March 2010) Peter from Spinners Automotive flashed the car with a GIAC tune and of course I went immediately back down to the drag strip. It ran a 16.11 at 82mph
Since that time I have been playing around with the car and doing little bits and pieces as I have been swamped with work. Between now and then the following occured.
Stubby Aerial
GTI Front grill and Honey combe lower Grills.
Fitted PD160
Removed the cat
Bit of weight reduction
Cobra Imola Pro Bucket Seat
RPM 6 Point Harness.
Remsa Pads
TRS Tow Strap.
XYZ Racing Spec Coilovers
Oz Superturismo with Kumho V70A's
I purchased a Lightweight flywheel and clutch when I thought I killed the gearbox but didn't need to fit it. The factory clutch has survived 146,000km of abuse from me including 3 drag days and 1 track day and has shown no signs of slipping. Still need to fit the Audi Front brake upgrade although I really want to go a 2 Piece disk with a Porsche caliper so might put these back up for sale soon.
So that brings us to 11 June 2011 - Porsche QLD Track day at Lakeside. We only ran in the afternoon session so there was no timing but I was running with a friends Porsche 930 with 3.6ltr Engine Roll Cage etc that was running High 65's low 66's in the morning session. He was a bit faster down the straights and the Polo was a bit better under brakes and through the corners. So best guestimates would put the Polo in the 66 - 67 region.
Took it back down to the drags, A couple of weeks ago and managed to run a 15.889 @ 85mph. That's how it sits at the moment.
Heading over to the UK in 10 days. Bringing back a few things with me including VNT 17 Turbo to get rid of the tiny little VNT 15. PD150 Injectors and PD150 Intake with Race Pipe.

sensible mods to get from the UK enjoy.
You could do with getting the GTI front light clusters to complete the front end look. Probably not cheap though.
2016 MY17 Polo GTI with DA package. TMD fitted + Weather strip and Snow Screen removed otherwise dead standard.
Will be at some stage Stew, pricing is okay just not at the top of the priority list at the moment.

It is going to be about $1,500 landed. If the testing of it goes well I will be offering a complete kit with all the parts and a tune. I doubt I will be able to offer fitting but I maybe able to sort something out with Jimmy or someone else.
