    Engine/ Exhaust warning light.

I have an my08 polo tdi and i noticed the engine exhaust warning light was on, it was time for a service so booked it in. the service technician said the fault code was invalid on their database. He said he couldn't find anything wrong so he would get rid of the light. picked my car up and the light was gone, next day it was back. has anyone else experienced this problem?

    thanks.

Could be a range of things.

    Sensor or something more sinister.

I'd be taking it back pronto.

I'd also be asking for details on the error code/s so that you can do some research online. You might also be able to find someone on these forums to scan the car for you to help you diagnose (there's a thread somewhere)

...or take it to independent VW shop, if VW dealer is unable/unwilling to investigate the cause of the fault.
