    El Questiono Stupido

hey guys, just a stupid question from a total idiot:

i understand the n75 valve is associated with wastegated turbos, and i've searched a dump-pile in tdiclub, but it seems that our PD cars have more in common with the BEW engine rather than the mk4's ALH, and all the conversation on there regarding the n75 seems to have to do with the ALH.

so, my question is- do our PD cars have an n75/ n75j valve, or anything of the sort?

if so, has anyone ordered aftermarket units and experimented with the advantages that these may provide?

    thanks gang...

Since you nicely ask. This link will give you some answer, just scroll at the bottom of the post. The downside is you have to do a lot of look up and reading there.

But there is nothing about aftermarket.

    awwww thanks transporter

i found that the vw audi diesels use this sort of n75:

but so far i havent seen an ''uprated'' n75 unit like the ECS tuning ''race'' n75.

gotta keep on truckin. someone somewhere will have produced one.

    it's pretty interesting, greg.

from what i've seen on the petrol side of things, it would appear as though a "race" n75 might hold more boost for slightly longer (or something, via inhibiting vacuum or whatnot), but all that i've read with regards to n75 valves for the diesel on tdiclub (including the PD engines, believe it or not!!!) pertain not to aftermarket, performance accomodating units, but rather replacement stock units, for when the car goes into limp mode ("check the egr valve, inlet clogging, the MAF, or the n75").

hey- another thing i've learned... it's always good in TDI hood

Most people who play with the N75 on the 1.8T's are trying to get more boost or improved spoiling.

Most people end up going back to stock, it's not the valve, but the tune that controls the N75 and thus wastegate.
