disconnect them one at a time and see what gets a new fault
Hey guys. i have mk6 103TDI with an Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor problem. The logs tell me it is B1 S3 (Bank 1 Sensor 3) and I've done some research but not sure if its the upper sensor with the BROWN connector or the lower with the ORANGE connector?
here are the details from the VCDS

disconnect them one at a time and see what gets a new fault
great, i'll give it a try.
Disconnected the brown connector and the fault stayed, measured across it with my multi meter and its open circuit. Measured across the orange one and it read 250 ohms.
Called VW parts and they want $320 just for the sensor...
They are expensive. The orange ones fail the most.....then brown and the odd black fail but orange is the most replaced..best to do a DPF regen after too.

Managed to get a brown sensor for $165 through my neighbor who works in the automotive industry. Just fitted it and it went in pretty easy, problem is now solved.
When you say do a DPF regen is that something i can do manually with my VCDS? (havnt researched that yet).
Yes it can be done with vcds. Just Google it
