[QUOTE=cogdoc;300617]On that note I can't seem to adjust my Provent side pressure regulator. I do remember taking it apart when i got it for a lookie see, but it doesn't want to turn either way. I'm going to get onto Sydney Filter services, where I bought it, and see what they have to say. The Provent manual, I have my original here, is vague in this area. Obviously getting this working is my best solution.

As for adding stuff to my inlet to clean out what's already there, well, too late...

I was not able to turn mine either. It seemed to be in the fully open pos. as there was no restriction to air flow. This didnt bother me because there is no restriction in the little pipe going to the inlet . FYI after 5k I drained 120ml from the provent. The inlet to the provent had oil in it, the outlet pipe from provent was bone dry. I noticed the oil level on the dip had gone down 2mm.

Makes me think I've set it up wrong, as there's still *some* oil getting through. Looking into that next, reworking the setup. The Provent is a serious bit of kit, and shiould be doing a great job....hmmm....

wow, this thread really got me concerned... driving a 1.9 TDi (Octavia). Should I be really concerned? Whats provent? How much soot/dirt/whatever builds up in the EGR? I thought that the temperatures would be hot enough to push out most of the excess soot etc through exhaust...

    Sorry I'm a diesel noob

No actually your not a noob..... a noob is my mother and her friend putting petrol into a diesel. The tractor sound, combine harvester attachment, roof racks, man fanny pack and towball, was not enough of a give away.

If you thinking of getting one, the smaller one ( Inter-Ject LB291/1F (401)) is ok for cleaning jobs and even diagnostics. Second tube on LB291/2F is for measuring fuel injectors flow.
    I have bouth units.
Always have this one in the van.

Are there any photos or links on how to install on the T5. I have the provent but not enough experience with the T5 motor.

You need 1500mm silicon hose (diameter is 23mm internal and 33mm external), drain hose 12mm dia 1m long, 4 clamps, 500mm flat steel 25x3, M6x25mm bolt, 6mmflat washer big dia , a pice of rubber or cork to insulate bracket from the body, 2x M8x40 bolts, 2x M8 nut and washers to bolt the provent to the bracket, plastic ties to tie rubber spacer to the intercooler pipe (see pictures). If you don't have a welder you could use 25mm angle steel instead of flat steel.

    Provent installed in T5 128kW 2005

It is important that 12mm drain hose at the bottom of Provent is correctly connected or sealed (if sealed, than you have to drain it from time to time).
The copper tubing can be use if space is limited. Short pieces of silicon hoses (4) would connect copper tubing to inlet and outlet.
Hint:Silicon hoses are more suited (withstand higher temperatures) they will also stretch more than the rubber one if you try fit it on bigger diameter tubing.
23mm inside dia goes nicely on 25 mm ports on the Provent.
    Do not use PVC hoses.
