i wonder if you could just burn the soot out "on the bench" so to speak... using an acetaline torch to start it. Hmmm....
Who likes the idea of an acetaline injector post turbine?
(the "wink" indicates a joke....)
Hey Greg,
No I wasnt saying I would try clean the DPF for use afterwards, I will still get the Delete done as I can only see this becoming a problem again. I meant more out of interest for people going forward who have the same issue and may want to know if it can be cleaned out.
Cheers
Ryan

Great post Ryan, I too will be up for one of these bad boys soon, with my 08 gt I'm just waiting for my warranty to expire.
Question: are u going to um..... "hi flow" the cat as well?
And this might be a question for the other boys too, can anyone with half a brain fit the milltek/ custom code chip, or do we need to ship our cars to the uk?
Gregski, the chip is actually a flash for the ECU. No need to ship it to the UK. If you are looking to get a DPF pipe, It'd be good to know when you would be looking at? Sometime in 2011?
Gavin
Sweet so when u say flash you means it's just a matter of plugging it in and off you go?
Mate how long will it take to arrive? I know the other boys waited 4+ months?
Cog you should have an auction for your pipe and chip mate, you might have a few hungry buyers!
The wait was due to the shipping. If you didn;t mind paying for airfreight, you can get one a lot sooner. I shipped some G60 arches the day before I moved to Australia. They arrived the following week. The problem with the DPF pipes is the length, they exceed the maximum length that most shippers will handle as they are 1.2 metres long when packed up.
The flash is just the same as for any other ECU from the last 10 years or so and is loaded via the OBD port.

Sorry Gregski, Ryan is in a jam with his car, so it would be a bit of bad form to capitalise! ( nice thought though ).
For the record, the "cat" IS the DPF cannister the delete pipe, well..... deletes! Once this header goes on, the major restriction is gone, just a resonator and the huge rear pancake muffler remains, and the rear pancake can be removed with little effect to noise.
Gav neads lead time for surface shipping, as it's a 10-12 week process fellas!

That is so close to the warranty expiration i would be pushing them to do it under warranty.

your only concern might be if it hasnt been serviced at vw for the whole time.
Definitely if you were the original owner with a full vw service history at the same dealer they would be doing it without question.

Ryan bought it second hand. That was the first thing I said, goodwill. Not having any of it......

You can be certain the first reason for rejection would be the use of bio-diesel contrary to VW specifications - both you and the dealer cannot prove this is true or false so it becomes a "mexican stand-off". You would have to prove the DPF was faulty when the car was delivered.
No need to say who has the advantage in this situation.
