A more DIY approach for all you DPF haters (good to get a bit of cross-forum pollination going)

Interesting stuff Greggo, but even I'm scared off destroying an expensive DPF for the sake of not spending a bit on a custom pipe, which is bigger too! No fall back plan there, and with a $5k retail......scary!

It's a possible and cheap solution to someone, if the DPF cannot be regenerated anymore. Keep in mind that VW parts from wreckers in some EU countries cost the same or less than Holden parts from wreckers in OZ.
The ECU for my T5 less than $100.00 and tuned up one for more kW is less than $150.

Something is WAY wrong here. I'm scared of a mod, and Transporter is backing it!

You'll know when it happens matey, but I reckon end Jan for the ship to arrive. It ALWAYS takes 8-10 weeks surface from the USA, and I'm allowing an extra two given it was from the UK.

I know it's been a bloody long time. It'll be worth the wait.

The choice was really made by the cost of the shipping. The pipe alone would have been 1500 or more landed, if shipped air freight. It is just that bit too long to make it economical.

I am not leaving the country though. I have made a big investment, in monetary terms, in the software flashing department myself, so I am as keen as everyone else to see it go through. I need to sort you lads out to get that back.

As Greg says, you'll know when it's done.

    Gavin
