DPF cleaning fluid: factory installed

I'm looking at the new Peugeot 3008 (delayed til end August) and the online owners manual advises the the fluid is not accessible or serviceable other than at a dealer service division.
It does NOT relate to the DEF (AdBlue) but is a separately engineered cleaner for the DPF .

(the, pre catalyst, AdBlue filling/top up method is shown)

Anyone heard of this sort of separate DPF cleaning installation?.

I have read about PSA cars only ones to have a feature like that. I personally think it's a good idea especially for all of us who drive a diesel in metro areas. Very similar to LiquiMoly DPF cleaner that you can add to fuel except it's all built in. Here is a link to view process of refill:

Check with spare parts at dealer if the fluid can be bought over the counter or check online spare parts shops.

I think that petrol engines will be enjoying particulate filters soon. Read an article in AutoBild.de about particles that petrol engines emit. To compare, they tested a Citroen C4 diesel dpf vs a range of petrol engines. Citroen emitted only 5 particles per m3 and Golf mk7 1.2tsi did 1.800.000 particles per m3 (was the worst in the test). Mercedes has particulate filter as standard on S500 (petrol V from 2014. So it's just a matter of time or maybe when new euro emissions (in Europe) kick in.

So diesel is cleaner for particulates!!
Really need to compare same (latest) car and model in diesel and petrol to make sense and get a valid comparison I suspect.
Nothing in tech remains valid for more than 5 minutes it seems these days.

dpf fitted diesels have obviously been cleaner in terms of particulates since day dot. you only have to check the tailpipe to see it.
My 08 allroad with 122,000km has perfectly clean tailpipes. They are not cleaned when the car is washed.

So I wonder what the clean life expectancy is for this type of treated DPF.
As these engines don't have the old EGR cooler it might just mean a relatively long trouble free life .......as long as you keep the servicing up.

I am not sure if the dpf liquid will extend the life of dpf or by how much but it helps with regens getting a better clean. At the end, the amount of ash is that will fill it up until needs replacement. It will lower the risk of saturated dpf for those who drive short trips and don't regenerate the dpf properly like regular motorway driving. Another issue is that our standard for diesel is lower than euro. We have sulfur and european is sulfur free. That's why I have been only filling mine since new with BP Ultimate Diesel as is the closest meeting euro specs and lower amount of sulfur. Either way it will cost more whether you buy dpf clean liquid or run on higher spec fuel. We can't win lol. The best we can do is run the dpf as required to avoid issues or early death

BP will be the woollies supplier soon, assuming ACCC approval.
I understand our sulphur is 10ppm.

Aus standard is 10 (max), BP is only 5ppm
