I figuired this was a good thing instead of heading off on a cold motor.
Any thoughts on this? Ps i also let the car idle for a few mins before i turn it off to let it cool the turbo a bit.?

    Just interested on others thoughts.
    As Greg said.

You really should start up and get moving (30s idle max.), warming the engine by gentle driving (and not just the engine, the whole drive train). The reason for this is to get the engine at the operating temperature ASAP. The cold engine is running richer mixtures which contribute to acid formation from unburned fuel, which etches the cylinder walls and pollute the oil in the sump, so you want to shorten that time. That's what wears out the engine most.
