Same deal. Petrols run a return line with a restrictor in it. Deisel tanks have a larger feed pipe from the rhs bottom of the tank. Petrols from the top.
This may be a stupid question,
Now, i know that a diesel requires a return line to the fuel tank, and that i require a diesel tank.
But my petrol LS already has two lines to the fuel tank.
What's the story here?

surely even in the petrol, one of the feedpipes has to go to the bottom of the tank. The return line shouldn't matter where it goes unless it goes to the tank.but i should take the restrictor out, right?
So will the only issue be that i need a bigger fuel line?

One of the pipes does go to the bottom of the tank, I think the one closer to the middle of he car but it is only 6m/m. I am not sure if you can use this. I haven't seen anyone convert a petrol Golf to deisel. The fuel tank in a GTI is much the same or exactly the same as a deisel. I would probably try the setup with out the restrictor to start with. If it starves then fit the restrictor. Should be in the short bit of fuel hose under the bonnet that goes from the T piece near the carby to the plastic return line. Cheers.
