Sweet. My wife's 07 Jetta is like an Elizabethan chimney atm. But I do like burying people in a cloud of soot

Big fan of Moreys smoke killer, and Fuel Doctor or similar every ten thou or so.

Sounds like your Jetta injectors are dirty Ben.

Co-incidentally I had my baby in for it's 105,000 km service today. I asked the guys to check the DPF reading for me and it came back as ".06L, max being 0.46 ALL OK". I presume that translates to grams somewhere in there. Going back through my log book/chart I see that I first started with "Fuel Doctors" at about 18,000 km using a regular dosage and then at 28,000 km I did my first "shock treatment". At 37,000 km I changed to Moreys DSK but still do a regular "shock treatment" with FD, normally with the fill after a service ( just as a routine so I don't forget). The car still pulls like a train, and as long as don't plant my right foot ALL the time it gives good economy. I am no expert on these DPF's but I think my reading is pretty good, please advise me if I am wrong.

The MK6 DPF will last longer then the MK5's, just the nature of common rail vs PD, and the DPF's themselves are evolving. Fuel Doctor will do stuff all to the DPF directly, but by keeping injectors clean keeps soot to a minimum. Moreys will indeed lower the load on the DPF, as well as lube the fuel pump and injectors themselves, which becomes critical in common rail. Cheap insurance of two vital parts.

So Greg, should I think about starting the programme on my 2012 103TDI Yeti which has done 18K?
It was in storage for 2 years (surplus stock) and the kms have almost exclusively country driving and has a DTUK CRD2+ box fitted for most of the distance.

    Consider also Penrite DPF Cleaner.

Where money is not a problem I use BG244J with a fantastic result in my customer's cars and every 3months in all our diesels. While at every fill up the girls are religiously using Liqui Moly diesel additive, that I pour into a small plastic bottles and store them in the rear door pocket.

Repco should have it, but you could probably get it cheaper from some other automotive shops. I get mine from Moreys.
