I've driven a stage 1 bluefin'd GT Sport TDI and they go like a cut snake!

For tuning, I'd always recommend the one with the best after sales support.

I had my GT Sport 'chipped' by the guys at APR in Brisbane about 3 years ago. On paper, the power went from 125 to 143 kW and the torque from 350 to 420 Nm. On the road the difference was a bit more subtle than I hoped, but the extra grunt was certainly there. Before I bought a new GTD recently, I test drove a new GTI, and when I jumped back into my GT Sport I thought "No - I do really prefer the pull of the diesel over the GTI."

I'd like to upgrade the performance of the GTD too (not that it's a slouch by any means), and would also like to hear from anyone who's already dabbled in this department.

APR diesel tunes come from Oettinger, who has probably the most conservative diesel tune out there. On my GT Sport TDI I have custom code, there are others with Viezu and Bluefin, and IMO in the diesel department they are all superior to Oettinger. I have had both Viezu and custom code on my car - it's not just about peak power, it's about the power delivery and torque curve. Not sure if any of the three (CC, Viezu and Bluefin) have GTD tunes yet, but I wouldn't go with anyone else for a diesel tune, my personal recommendation of course being CC.

I do believe the GTD is anti-tune, that is a bench tune, but I am checking with HQ. In that case you will need a local dealer.

My boss has an Oettinger tune on his TDI, and my Motorsport with a DPF still in place ( limitation ) just crucifies him. I still think Custom Code have beautiful diesel tunes....always have!

Are you talking about Bluefin style flash loaders or ebay intercepter boxes?

If it's anti-tune a Bluefin won't work. Ebay boxes are a poor way of messing about with the ECUs inputs.
