All sorted and done.
Here's the service receipt for what was done.



The tech obviously ****ed up mounting the injectors the first time and that's what the problem was.
And yes, I know I'm going to be asked. 0 performance increase and the car does not 'feel' any better. Exactly how it was before.

Obviously failed to use correct mounting tools.

Those bolts are stretch bolts, so if you 'pull' the injector into its seat using the bolts, either your car will not start or will misfire under load.

Ive measured used vs new and seen up to 10mm difference in length.

The fix was going back to Bosch in the MK6.

Just keep in mind that Bosch is a division of the Siemens group and that the Siemens brand is usually associated with higher end products. I think the PD Piezo injector was a leading edge product at its time of introduction.

Any dealer? Who cares, they'll all do the same work.

I think your experience with Barloworld Moorabbin shows they don't (all do the same work). I won't go near that mob of incompetents again and recommend against anyone else giving their service department any business.

Manol can I ask what month you car was manufactured ,as mine was the 10/2008 ??

To be honest, I couldn't care less.

I didn't pay for it, and from this moment on...that receipt makes them liable for whatever goes wrong with that portion of the car's engine.
The new injectors have a 7 year warranty on them IIRC and the workmanship/parts on the invoice state 2 years.

If this year and next year is anything to go by in terms of kilometers I do..that will be 100,000km I do in 2 years so if something breaks it's going to happen in the next 2 years.

Its not the month of manufacture, its based on chasis number. Ring up VwAustralia and inquire re the campaign and quote your VIN.

Again today my 125kw diesel was hard to start , took over a minute of cranking before it fired up, Ive got it booked in for the injector recall on the 16th, It has done this on a few other occasions in the past, does any one think it could be associated with the injectors ??
Only does it now and again ?

had one doing the same and was booked in for injectors at the time.. when checking fault codes it had a ecu sum error fault code.. carried out a online update of the engine ecu and was fine after that... installed injectors after too..no issues since... owner had been going to a back street garage for over a year to try and fix it! and yes it was only now and then when its faulted....VDUB...
