Campaign 23H9 - 103kW/125kw TDI PD Piezo Siemens Injector Failure

Hi guys,

What I am likely to have in my engine, injector wise? MkV Pacific 2.0 TDi. Build date 10/08.
I have it booked in for a checkup. So far done 40k without any problems, mainly city driving.
Hope it stays problem free as I really like the car and probably will keep it until it really will not run any longer.
Used to have a mk3 for over 10yrs without a problem. Hope this one be just as reliable.

Mine was also built 10/2008 but is a 125kw ,they replaced my injectors with out any hassle

I got a letter today from VW telling me about the injector issue and to book my car into my local VW dealer, take the letter and my owners manual for admin, and it takes about 3 hours.

They are going to freak lifting my bonnet, but a recall is a recall.

Was nice to see a section on the back to return if you had sold or passed on the car, seems VW are keen to contact ALL cars, whether first owner or not. I will scan the letter once I get my scanning printer back off my girlie.

I have a 2008, Golf Pacific TDI which I believe is 103kw. Can someone confirm if this is effected or not by this service campaign.

Is anyone experiencing a rough start post the injector change. My mileage has improved considerably, but the rough start specially the early morning one has me a bit worried.

Hi there,

Since buying my Passat TDi 125KW in Dec 2011 (build date 1st Sep, 2011) I have had issues with rattling noises from the injectors or the injection pump. The noise is intermittent and although VW mechanics have identified the source of the noise, because they have been unable to replicate the noise any of the six times the car has gone in to them, VW refuses to replace the faulty parts.

Does anyone know whether build date 01/09/11 is affected by the 23H9 campaign (VW has said nothing to me about it)? Also, has anyone heard of loud/high-pitch intermittent rattling from the injectors or the injection pump?

Nope you have a common rail MK6, not part of this campaign, but stay on VW, very odd symptom. The pump is my guess, the weak spot on common rail.

Well I had my injectors done today at VW and no questions asked. I had returned it to stock as best I can, and put a mild tune back on, but it was obviously a tuned car given the signwriting and 9 flash attempts, but not even a raised eyebrow.

I'll see how it settles in.
