we can. there is a mob that does a bolt on VNT2256vk upgrade that comes with everything. We'd have to get PD150 pistons, intake, FMIC and Rosten rods to hold up to the 200+hp but hell!

awesome write up mate, good to see more diesel modders coming to the fore.

where abouts did you get your intake manifold? I'd really like to get a PD150 one at one point, and the allard EGR delete pipe. What were they like to deal with?

those balls are too big for me, josh, haha. im a simple boy... gimme a vnt17b kit with turbo / dump pipe / pd150 intake / eurojet smic / supporting mapping, all bolt on and thought / creativity / customisation / sourcing hard-to-find parts free, and i'd be a happy chappy.

~150whp and ~360nm would be all i'd ever ask of the pog.

Love it, do you mind if I ask how much and where you picked the Allard kit up for?

Also where did you go about getting the nozzles fitted, I am so hesitant about getting anything done in Australia with the nozzles particularly for a PD (mine) as they have enough trouble in the UK and states getting them done properly.

Buller: There are quite a few bolt on kits. Darkside Developments have a nice kit. Should be about $3,000 delivered, comes with manifold, big turbo, dump and all the gaskets needed. Then just need FMIC or a Tyrrol Sport SMIC if it will fit (I am trying to work out if it will or will not) Nozzles Bosio 783 Race should do it and an 11mm Pump final couple of things are a 4Bar map Sensor and Clutch and that will get you the basics that you need.

Oh and yes the PD150 intake is a good idea.

Easy, buy a VNT17B, buy a manifold, can use your stock dump pipe if you really want, PD150 intake is easy just get onto RyanP from TDIClub, small nozzle upgrade should be all that is needed just to be on the safe side, the tyrrol sport cooler is a nice bit of kit, take some measurements and see if it fits.

That whole lot is as bolt on as you can get. Tune wise, chipped or custom code will be able to do something along with heaps of other places.

PS: Missed these posts before. Stupid early mornings (thats my excuse atleast)

evaded, sick. i'd never heard of darksided developements... it's hard sifting through TDI club, trying to "adapt" any knowledge there of ALH modifications, to our pogs, and scratching one's head the whole time. darkside's website makes for interesting reading as it's specific to our very cars.

and thanks for the info in post number 12 - i know i said i am a simple boy, but damn, straight bolt on 1749vb or 1722 hybrid, with all parts included in the kit, and no need for any head scratching? very intriguing...

what do you make of the 8v kit here? i gather one would still need to source a pd150 manifold, as well as injectors, for the install to be complete?

    cheers,

    scotty

The 8V Kit is nice but it is expenisve, there is another guy who does it for about $1,300 delivered to Aus. Just doesn't have the pretty manifold and other stuff but it would do the job.

Depends how much of a budget you want to do it on. You don't need to source injectors just nozzles, as far as I understand the Injector body is the same between the later model PD100 and PD150 injectors. Bosio 784 or whatever it is should do it.

The 1749 is the same as the 15 Basically, really not alot of work to get it to fit. None of it will be straight bolt on but there really isn't that much required to get it done.

oh lovely. I think I'd go the vnt17b upgrade first. No need to spend the $$$ to do the bottom end yet!
heard on the grape vine the PD100 bottom end isn't the strongest (200hp max?) I'll have to do more research.

Evaded, keep posting all the bolt on links you have mate! More the merrier! (wonder whole do it first in the TDI Polo group)

I"m keen for some VNT action on my 1Z. I think the 17/22 hybrid would be nice, but probably overkill! I reckon I'd be more than happy with a 17. (for now )
