Woo-Hoo. Brackie got a new car! Very nice mileage too.
We're being offered diesel at between $1.45 and $1.48 per litre at the moment in Mildura. ULP is cheaper at a smidge under $1.40.
Diesel's around $1.48 here. "Servosavers" helps with <24c/L <30L if you keep your receipts. I topped up the TDI the other day for $36.00 when the bowser read $43.20
She's doing 5.2L /100km on mixed running and still only has 1700km on the clock. That's around 53mpg by my reckoning.
Diesel always used to be cheaper than petrol but now India and China are consuming so much of it the price has gone up. Diesel costs much less to produce than does petrol.
VW void warranty on TDIs with the PD system if you use biodiesel or biodiesel blends. Plenty of N American TDIs have been running around for years on B100 with no problems but I wouldn't risk it (yet ). Not because I don't think that properly made bio isn't OK, just for the warranty issue.
