Haha whoopsies for sure. I think it's a positive though. Now we know the bottom end looks pretty good and everything will be cleaned up and reinstalled with new gaskets. Will be upgrading the head bolts to pd150 ones probably which can handle more boost if ever required but are no where near the cost of arp hardware.

I like the piece of mind that everything will be refreshed as this is the first time the car has had any parts replaced apart from timing belts and a battery since new. Good to know the motor looks healthy and how it's put together up top

Had a massive last 3 days putting everything back on the car. Gldgti helped out heaps and on Saturday we had the head back on and engine timed, manifolds back on etc. Then over Sunday and Monday egr deleted, all boost piping back on, driveshaft back in, coolant pipes all hooked up etc. Was very happy with how everything went back together. Last night at around 6pm it was finally time for turn key after priming the fuel system. Lots of cranking with no start and I was poking my head around triple checking everything. Gave it a few more cranks and it fired up back to life! Great success! Let it idle and played with the revs a little to get all the fluids flowing and wear the camshaft in a little. Everything seemed great. Took it for a quick test drive. It's down on power, struggles to get up hills and higher rpm doesn't pick up and accelerate (thinking maybe vac leak with egr delete / vac for turbo actuator) so need to sort that and rear right coil making noise so will suss that out and make sure everything is tight and sitting right. Great success though! Hearing it fire up after being in a million pieces for weeks was awesome!

    Now for some pics:

Head after cam and lifters removed cleaned up awaiting the new bits.

Just want to say a massive thanks again to gldgti for helping out. Heaps of stuff I wouldn't have known how to do like timing the engine properly and wouldn't have the muscle for such as torquing the new head bolts :p legend! It's also fun to talk 5h1t with someone rather than working alone in the cold lol

I think you could be onto something there. It's almost like there's no turbo. When I hit a hill it just dies in the arse and I have no power lol.

    Cheers Jarred

Sorted rear coilover clunk. Strut wasn't up tight enough...

That reminds me, did you do up the LHS front lower balljoint nuts? The ones I found were undone?

Yes. Tightened them up. At first forgot to put that wishbone bolt back in before the axle so had to pop the hub out on the driers side ball joint and put that guy back.

It's fixed! Snapped intercooler piping clip was the problem. Gldgti to the rescue with some wire and pliers and all is well. Mission complete car driving perfect! Happy days!

Some pics of her after a quick wash tonight.

And was looking through the service schedule in the glovebox. Apparently my haldex filter has been changed twice... How strange is that. Makes me question what actually gets done at a service and what's just ticked. Doesn't matter as I'll be doing it from now on.

Mate that must be a good feeling to know its all back together!

Save some cash and surprise us with some nice wheels for GAD.

Also put some $$ aside for a flash and exhaust for soot!
