Alternator issues

Jets can correct me if I'm wrong, but to the best of my knowledge there are two female splines as part of the pulley assembly. The 33 tooth one is used to stop the alternator from spinning while undoing the inner bolt that holds the pulley itself in place.

Just to clarify, there is only one female spline as part of the pulley assembly. You are correct with the rest of your instructions as is asa572.

Whenever I've done an alternator, I've not taken wheels, etc off. You can usually get everything out from up top.

But in this case, if you've got a mess to clean up then yeah, no harm in being thorough.
