I'd be petrified of cracking and expensive transmission component or giving the Haldex one straw too many.
Ahh I see - I didnt mean to indicate that I was being reckless with my allroad. I did scratch up the front bumper a bit, but it needed a respray anyway (did that the day after the trip
I actually thought I was being rather cautious.

Still a bit to exy for me though
Little update:
I actually fitted my exhaust pipe valve over the weekend. Somewhat predictably, the motor controller for the valve was buggy as anything - so I did away with the motor and controller altogether - I made a bracket and attached a little EGR flap vacuum actuator to it, and ran a tube down to the valve mounted in the exhaust pipe. The tube is connected to a little vacuum solenoid from jaycar, and I can just switch it on and off from inside the cabin. Works well so far! Its definitely quieter just running the exhaust through one of the otherwise identical twin pipes.
Ive also recently fitted my new aftermarket propshaft from advanced automotion. It took forever to actually get here from the states. Not sure I'd deal with them again.... im sure they are OK if you live in the USA.
Other than that, spent all day yesterday fixing rocker cover gasket leaks, all due to me not following the exacting instructions in ELSA. This engine is notorious for rocker cover oil leaks, and I'm pretty sure the reason is that almost nobody ever bothered to check audis exacting instuctions about using sealant along with the metal/rubber gasket. It seems to be OK now though, so thats good.
All in all the cars running really well!

Sad update -
I have sold the car (all the way to WA) and miss it already. I had to sell something as I again had too many cars, as we bought a cabriolet again.
I will miss it for sure, the C5 platform, particularly the allroad - will always have a place in my heart
