Accessing oil filter on PD 2.0L

    Hi All,

If I were to change my oil filter on our BKP Passat, would I need to remove / move the EGR pipe also? I cant see the oil filter coming out through the gap.

Stupid EGR valve and pipe ... So stupidly hard to remove.

Just remove the engine cover bracket, it squeezes out. The more you do the better you get at not making a mess, but given the filter cover has to go on an angle it can be tricky not to make a mess

    Great thanks!

Also, not sure if you can answer this, but I read on a UK forum that people replace the bolt above the EGR pipe with a hex-headed bolt, which sounds like a much better idea. Do you know what size bolt we need for there?
