Sounds pretty strange.
Might be considered bad advice, so lets call this "what I would do" - keep driving it until it actually is a problem/is easier to diagnose. Until then you will probably just spend money chasing it.
Sometimes you happen to notice wear a long time before its an issue. It can be annoying, but its not necessarily best cost/benefit wise to fix it until its actually broken. (I realise this isnt always true, but sometimes it is.)

Thanks for that advice gld/gti I'll do just that then. In any case my plan was to keep the car till the end of the year n then look at options. I'll see how I go till then.

Thank you guys for all your support on all TDI issues. After 8 long years and 113000kms finally bid a due to my Polo1.9TDI and made the petrol transition to a VW1.4 90 TSI Golf manual shift.
