    Hi Guys,

Slightly off topic, but I spent quite some time trying to find a suitable bottle with a longer nozzle to decant a tank shot of Moreys Smoke killer into, found sewing machine oil is at the correct 100mL. I just load this up after each tank full, and then adding the right amount at the bowser is both very quick a piece of cake.

Shouldn't that be in Transporter's "official" diesel additives thread?

I think he's referring to the delivery method rather than the contents

That one is a bit small for adding 2T at 1:200 but would work for petrol engines using 1:600
This is the sort I use. This one is empty but the level shows clearly with oil in it and it lasts for about 4 fills before it needs topping up.

I use a 300ml water bottle with 50ml markings that I put on the side (I weighed the bottle as I added water to make sure it was pretty accurate). I carry a 1 litre oil bottle of 2 stroke that I pour into the (ex)water bottle to suit the amount of fuel that I estimate I'll be filling.

What 2SO are people buying and from where? My understanding so far is I need to find the cheapest bulk amount of semi synthetic TC-W3. Also, has anyone considered some kind of blend of 2SO and Moreys or is that just over the top?

You should use MINERAL 2SO. Semi Synthetic and fully synthetic may not blend with diesel completely. I use Castrol Activ 2T. It should be rated JASO FC.

I would not use both 2SO and Moreys simultaneously as you don't know how they will interact.

I've used a semi synthetic 2 stroke oil (Motul 800) in the past with no separation issues - even premixed in a jerry can. I've read of issues with some fully synthetic oils but I think the suggestion that full mineral oil is absolutely required is a bit strong.

I'd be very interested in how Morey's Smoke Killer and 2 stroke oil interact but I'm happy enough with just 2 stroke oil that I don't feel the need to go out and buy some MSK. I would expect them to behave very similarly in a mix to just upping the dose of either one alone.

I'm using Shell Nautilus TC-W3 as I bought a lot cheaply when Shell were changing their packaging but I'd be happy to try the Gulf Western TC-W3 that sells a good price at auto stores like Supercheap

    Interesting.

I wonder if the TCW-3 oil I use avoids the fouling issue since this spec requires no metallic ash to be produced.
I also think the injector fouling must be highly non-linear else the internet would be flooded with reports about JASO FC oil causing power loss and injector failures (rather than the improved running that is commonly, although anecdotally, reported).

The HFRR test results for "Refinery Diesel" appears to totally contradict the Spicer report from 2007 which makes me wonder about the 2 stroke oil that was used.
