103TDI turbo whistle

Hi All, our Octavia has developed a faint but definite turbo whistle. It comes on just after pressing the accellerator along with the boost (torque) but then wains even though the torque remains. as the revs rise it seems to come on again. Its only slightly but distinctively louder than it was before (distinctive enough for my wife to notice..!)

Any ideas on what this could be?

Boost leak I reckon, the intercooler connectors are notorious for it, but even the slightest leak somewhere will give you that sort of noise.

I've got that slight whistle on my Passat, I just thought it was the turbo spooling.

the intercooler connections must leak a bit as there is some oil wetness around two of them. is it simply a matter of replacing an oring to reinstate the seal?

Occy was built Jan 09 and is apparently not affected by dieselgate....
