1.9 engine code help. Needed 1.9 ahu /1z or newer ALH Engine

Hi guys I am currently building a Suzuki with a Diesel vw engine. I have a 1.9 Pd but I am scrapping that idea due to lack of technical knowledge. I'm planning on running either a 1.9 ahu /1z or newer ALH Engine , pump dues is way out of my league Any help will. Be. Appriceted

    hey mate,

its tricky to find the 1st gen TDI's in australia, but they are around.

Why exactly are you scrapping the PD idea? worldwide, there is lots and lots of info specific to the 1.9 PD engines and they are great too, so if you already have an engine, it might not be that hard to follow through.

    Do you have an ECU/key?

basically all the diesels do that mate, some have a dedicated heat exchanger on the fuel system (late VP TDI's and PD) and others just return straight from the pump, which is still around 70C operating temp.

if you want ultimate simplicity, you should look not to an early TDI, but an early IDI and put a turbo on it. THen all you need to wire up are glow plugs and 12V for the pump stop solenoid, thats it.

You shoul look for 1600 diesels, CK, CY engine code I think they are, or 1900's, 1Y and AAZ.

I have a Mk 3 Tdi, had it 7 years now and its got 185K on the clock. She's pretty simple really once you get to know it. At the end of the day its a standard VE pump with electrical control, wiring lomb and computer. Not sure if i would attempt a transplant but plenty have. One thing I will say is they are quite powerful compared to most other diesels of that era.
