    Windobws/Sunroof Auto Close

OK, so I know you can close the windows and sunroof with the remote, but does anyone know of a way to program them to close just by the car being locked? I.e. not having to hold the button on the remote?

no sorry. But did find out by accident yesterday that if you hold the unlock button the windows open!! I knew they would close if you hold the lock button.

Yeah that's also VERY handy for the hot days when your car has been parked in the sun. You can let all the super heated air out before you get to the car.

I tried to get mine tuned to auto close if it rains.

I asked my dealer, and they said whilst it can be done, it is specifically noted not for australia.

Would assume perhaps the same deal with your request.

I have had a bit to do with some high end cars - 7 Series, S class etc (no I am not a limo driver!) and none have had that feature.

Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers

Girl I worked with in 2000/2001 had a 3-series BMW (not sure exactly which model) and she'd lock it with the remote and walk away then within a few seconds all the windows and sunroof would close automatically so I doubt BMW have REMOVED it from newer models. My 2007 VE HSV did it for the sunroof and there's a module you can install in that for windows too. Given there's already a module in the VW R36 for auto close since it works by holding the remote, I'm hoping someone knows how to set it.

My old mans 2008 760Li did not have this functionality, nor could it be set from the iDrive.

    His 05 S500 didn't have it either.

I can't argue as to whether it has been removed, but only reiterate my previous post - which was intended to assist you not start WW3

As for HSV Bommodores - I have no experience.

As for R36's having the module, they dont really have Auto open/ close do they? The windows go up/down by HOLDING the remote (unless this has changed from the MY08 Model). They dont go all the way up or down without keeping the button depressed. It is as though the button on the remote only presses the down/up button half way, and not through the second path of resistance which instigates the auto up/down via the door switch.

TBH I drive 90% with windows up, sunroof open, it isnt a big deal to close the roof prior to leaving the vehicle, and if you forget having the extra functionality via the remote is a bonus.

WW3? What the? Nobody's starting any WW3 that I can see... But if you've had no experience with them, why call them "Bommodores"? Not that I care. Just curious. Would be like me saying a Mercedes S500 is a S***500 without ever having any experience with them. Makes no sense. The HSVs are great value for money performance, features and safety. No they're not built as well as a European car but they also don't cost $120,000+ for the same performance from a Euro.

Anyhoo - thanks for your comments. I know it's all a matter of convenience. And I too rarely have the windows open while driving too and like you love being able to close the roof if I forget. Would just be nicer if I didn't have to hold the button is all.
