Question Windscreen Washer Bottle Leak on R36

    Hi Guys,

I noticed today that there was a pool of water in front of the drivers side front wheel on my R36 and found that all of the water had leaked out of the windscreen washer bottle.

Has anyone experienced this on their Passat?

I took out the lower front panel next to the grill to get a look at it and it seems that it is leaking either where the pump pushes into the bottle or it is the pump itself.

Will have to investigate further on the weekend.

The pump might've popped out of the bottle. It's only held in by a rubber grommet.

I've come across this thread and it appears to be quite a common problem.
Looks like I have a few things to try on the weekend.

    Problem solved.
Water line from washer pump had been rubbing on the bodywork inside the bumper bar and had worn a hole through the plastic hose. To get to the washer bottle/pump removed both front wheels and lower front wheel wheel arch liners then unscrewed and dropped down the bumper bar.
