Hence I've given up arguing online and my final comment was "I don't care".

For someone who has given up arguing you seem to issue a lot of posts condradicting other peoples opinion or experiences.

Your comments on the radio reception should have been simply I dont know as I dont use AM, as you admit you have Zero experience with AM reception (as do I).

Seems as though you dont care simply because you are never wrong.....

Just thought i'd add something of substance to this "arguement". This is in regards to the positioning of the antenna in the wagon at least:

Taken from my Passat Owners Manual..

    Booklet 3.3 Tips & Maintenance:

Cleaning the Windows and Exterior Mirrors: pg 20-21

This below is found on the top of page 21.

For someone who isn't 60 but does listen to a lot of AM (SEN sports station in Melbourne) i went with the advice of my tinter and got a non metalised film/tint. I've been happy since and the only issues i get with AM reception is travelling under overhead tramlines.

As for the GPS/SATNAV antenna, i'm assuming thats the sharkfin/stub antenna on the top rear end of the roof of the wagon and sedan(?)

Guys, go with what you will be happy with and with the information you have researched on. Everyone lives with their own decisions.

    Cheers,

    Jayse.

Correct Jayse! Everyone just needs to make their own decision and be happy with it.

My sedan has two antennas (one for radio and one for satnav) in the roof lining, not in the glass and not in the form of a shark fin. Like I have said before, I don't know about the wagon and my comments are all based on the sedan and my experience, which is always right for me.

Just to make it more complicated mine is a 2.0T which seems to have only the rear window with heater and antenna(or is close to antenna!) so to make sure I'm getting ceramic rear and the rest metallic, colour is indistinguishable. Not getting all ceramic because metallic has better heat reflection. Good info from everyone.

First proper hot day in Melbourne, and I definately miss having the tinted windows - will have to get my arse into gear and get it tinted ASAP.
