Well hooray for being "so last year". Just uploaded these taken today when I picked her up before I go and sit down with the relos for dinner (it's nearly 7pm here). I smiled the whole nearly 2hr international drive back!

    Looks the secks!
Shame the colour is a little bland, these ones really suit the dark colours.

    Any plans for it?

looks just like my "last year" 320cdi ( inside especially) except they put the steering wheel on the wrong side. plus you got extra stuff like cylinders and pipes and power ( and a fuel bill to match).

rocket make sure you go into lingatronic and individualize it to recognize your voice and also learn the commands. Well worth it - don't wait 12 months like i did.

can you take a pic of the seats?

I do agree not so keen on the wheels but still ok.

Congrats RocketC63 on the new purchase!

IMO i reckon the silver is not "agro" enough for a car of this nature. If i had a choice, i'd go black or white....haha, like if i had a choice!!
FWIW i like the wheels....maybe paint them tho.

I guess you could tart this one up a lil..any plans?

    Cheers,

    Jayse.

Nice car Rocket, even if wheel wrong side :

Re 'bye' I assumed u would want to hang out at MB forums now

Re c class vs Passat, I had a friend who recently had a loaner c classn for a test drive (he ended up buying an E class).. Anyway we both fell over laughing when we realised the car was fitted with a rear camera and we had to - wait for it - slowly wait for the display to unfold before safely reversing... Sorry but that's a tad ridiculous IMHO.

i usually leave the display up for nav and phone in which case the RVC is instant. It pops up while i start the car and put on the belt and is ready by the time i am to reverse. it remembers the last position of the screen.

Glad you got a laugh out if anyway

BTW there are reasons for the foldaway screen; it is in an ideal position when you are driving ( no need to look down) and also the hideaway is good for security especially in Europe where sat navs are stolen all the time.

Friend of mine with a golf in Berlin has had the sat nav stolen 3 times- wrecking the dash each time. reckons his next car wont have a vw style sat nav -too much of a temptation..

Your comments make sense, didn't realise you could leave the screen up. BTW to be fair to Merc, I actually thought the screen brightness was a lot better than VW's too as was the actual size of the display when reversing -- though no guidance lines! Its quite funny but I personally think its small omissions like that which annoy people and lead to lost sales.

Re VW style satnav being too much of a temptation, I never really gave it much of a thought, maybe you are right. Having said that, what a hassle it would be to defeat the alarm and deadlocking on a late model Passat and then rip out the RNS510...

A brick should make pretty short work of an alarm and deadlock.
