I have to say $61,000ono might be just a little bit high. Like what Jarred says, it really depends on how desperate you want to get rid of the car.

If i were you, i'd say start at the high $50s mark.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think one of the main reason why the car prices have been dropping is due to some sellers competing with one another to sell their car, thus dropping their own car value in the process. Let's say i see this car which is similar to mine advertised for $10k, i would automatically try to lower mine to $9k so my car will sell quicker. This creates a domino effect to everybody.

$58,000 looks about right as a staring price. I'm guessing you'll probably get close to $56,000.

Yeah, i agree, thats not a bad starting point.

Another thing to remember is the search brackets on carsales are in $5k increments. so if someone is looking for an R36 at 50-60k and yours is 61 but you will take 55 for it then he wont find it in his search ever. always better to go in at the top of a price bracket and adjust accordingly from there.

Pity it's a sedan I told one of our reps in Melb about it but he's unfortunately hunting a wagon (might sell him mine?)

And that's not the normal price. Congratulations on getting such a hugely discounted price.

You should let us know where you got it from? 60k is a steal. Probably with no options i presume.

People with the cash should invest in this..buy it for 60k and sell for 65k Easy 5k there..

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I just recently purchased a used 2009 white R36 wagon with 33,000km, sat nav, racks, boot liner, dynaudio, roof, reverse camera and parking sensors. Pretty much every option you can get from what VW have listed. I paid $63400 on road driveaway with 2 more years VW factory warranty. Do you think I paid too much? I have been looking for a while now, and it seems white commands premium, and also it seems the wagons are worth more than the sedans. Any thoughts on this? btw good luck with the sale mate.
