Water Boy,
My wife and I have had a number of Passats over the years. I started in a '76 sedan which I modded with a Weber, GTI oil cooler and 13x6 wheels - it would pull 136 km/hr in third gear! I fitted a TS grill to the front and, with spot-lights, would pump out more than 800 watts of light - I up-graded the alternator to a 80 amp unit from an air-conditioned Fox. My wife drove a '77 GLS (imported) wagon. Both car travelled 200K km plus before being replaced.
Good reliable (if outwardly dull) cars - great cars just the same.
These days, we have a Audi A4 quattro Avant and a (gasp) VW Country Buggy. This is a rare-ish car that I am slowly restoring.
regards
Rob

yeh i have a olde ts and a 1999 wb v6, nice
I owned a 1974 1300 L 2 door mustard colour (with round lights) Good motor pretty spartan but a great car. I now own a 2.0T 2006 Passat wagon. Also a good machine. The '74 was hit by a Ford Cortina which pretty much disintegrated its front end on impact. I drove away with a slightly dented panel. The '74 1500 won Wheels car of the year.
I own 75 passat wagon and i drive it everyday and i think its an awsome car
it's got 17x7 s lowered standered body only got 140,000 from new big 2l with twin dells, big cam ,balanced etc. They are a great car when you sort them out especially the gear shifts well on the early ones.
We had Sir Dub or also known as Sardine (due to being a bomb) which was a White 1975 Passat Wagon with auto transmission
Pity its trans and engine was stuffedbody was in great shape

I had loads of 80s Passats. The ones built from 87 onwards. Mainly GT wagons. I had a 2 litre 16V, several 1.8 GTs and 2 litre GLs and the best one the GT G60 Syncro.
Old 1.8 GT, paid 62 quid for it with 6 months rego. The roadworthy cost me 50. as it failed on a pair of wiper blades!!!
The syncro
The important bit, the back axle.....

I have a '74 LS that I am doing some mods on. Saw two nice LS's for sale on a couple of the internet car sales sights. When I have a clearer mind I'll post the links.
