    Water Leak

    Hey guys,

Need some input to a waterleak on my Passat.

When the car is driven, after i switch it off, it slowly leaks water towards the front left side.

I originally though it was a loose hose so i tightened the clamps, but its still slowly leaking.

Im guessin the waterpump. Anything else it could be?. Leak is not comming from the hose as i later found out

Also what could happen if it gets worse?

    Any help?

    Thumbs up

Could be Rad core mate. Pressure tester will find that no dramas. 1.5 bar of pressure is more than enough. While im writing this mate i realise that you must mean left side of engine and not left side of vehicle correct me if im wrong. If thats the case it could be water pump but best way to tell is to pressurise the system champ.

Thats what I meant, left side of the engine.

How would i go about pressurising the system?

yer luke the water pump sounds like the problem, they can leak from 2 spots
    - around the main casing, just rebuild it with more Blue maxxxxx!
    - from the seal/bush in the pulley shaft, which prolly suggest you have to replace the front of the water pump!

doin just the front of the pump is a waste of time and you have to disturb the cambelt. Do the whole thing and you dont , and change your stat while you are at it mate. Bythe way you pressure the system, with a pressure tester, but yeah sound like it dude.
