    Warranty work on paint?

Anyone got any work done on their paint as warranty? VWA need to inspect my car regarding shiny specks embedded in the paint which the detailer couldn't remove.
I'm worried if they paint the car it wont look good.

Got to ask, sure these specs are not a standard part of the actual paint work?

    Any pics of said specks..?

Yup, I had corrosion repaired under warranty when the car was about 6 months old (all that salt air coming over by ship...)

This was about 3 years ago. From memory I mentioned it during a service, they checked and took photos, had approval to fix within 24 hours, then I had to take it back to the dealer about a week later to fix.

They put it on a tilt tray, and sent it to a VW approved panel beater. The corroded hex-key bolts were replaced with hex head, and the paint work around repaired and re-sprayed. Haven't had any more hassles since.

For what it's worth, I think it's going back to the same place in about 3 weeks to get the Christmas hail storm damage repaired...

@Riker - it doesn't look like part of the paint, its like dandruff embedded into the clear coating of the paint. The dandruff is like silver or opal in colour. Anyways VW has done what Passatpout was saying - they took a pics and will send the pics to VWA for a scheduled check.
I still have to wait a while before I find out anything. They did say though they may need the car for a couple of days.

One annoying thing though ( my bood boiled at the time) is when they tried to remove the specs they managed to put scratches on the bumper...arrrggg!! but they said they promise to fix it along with the specs..WTF!!!

Anyways i hope the issue is resolved because I'm starting to hate what they do when you get them to fix or look into something.

Bummer....... At least they have acknowledged some sort of issue is there & are looking in to it. Try to be positive about the process mate. You could very well end up being very happy with the outcome....
