I gotta say, the brakes are simply amazing! Had a bit of a squirt today, enough to get the front brakes to smoke off al the oils/residue from being new.

The stopping power is incredible. The pedal feel is just so right and the pedal feedback is brilliant. But the stopping power is just sensational, its a total relearn for braking distances etc now - the first few times I braked late at speed to make a bend, I had to reaccelerate up again to reach the corner, such is the braking power. Now, late braking is just so much different from the stock OEM system its ridiculous!

You can also feel the weight removal from the wheels significantly through the steering wheel, the front wheels certainly change directions easier...

So yes, its been an expensive upgrade, and yes, its probably overkill for an everyday driver, but its well worth it in my opinion anyway. The car just drives so much better and it feels much more confident on the road, in wet and dry.

So the total running gear rebuild (V3's, bushes, sway-bars, HALDEX, wheels & BBK) has been around $13k which is where I expected it to be, and also where I budgeted it to be too, so I'm very happy with the finished result!

also like that the colour is the same as oem (or appears the same in the photos) keeping the theme of "R" cars having the light blue calipers

    Waz

The callipers are 6 x piston and the front slotted discs are 360mm two piece with an aluminium hat. The colour is the VWR Blue, but its way brighter on the new callipers when compared to the rears! I'm sure they'll dirt up soon enough!

The rear slotted two piece discs are not on yet, waiting on their delivery. I'll get the chance to clean up the rear callipers then too - try to match the new front ones!

I was going to go with Brembo's, but it wasn't going to be a plug 'n play upgrade - this was, took about 30 mins per side, plus no need to tell the insurers as the parts are OEM.

    Highly recommended!

Part number? Same as the Mk5 and mk6 Rs?

Don't do too much late brake as the cars behind yours probably don't have the same braking power as yours, lol

Next, well, I'm still wanting the SuperSprint headers to tail exhaust system, but at $6.5k, I doubt it'll happen anytime soon...

Then I have some upholstery repairs to get done, and one dent/scratch too.
