2017 MY18 Golf R 7.5 Wolfsburg wagon (boring white) delivered 21 Sep 2017, 2008 Octavia vRS wagon 2.0 TFSI 6M (bright yellow), 2006 T5 Transporter van 2.5 TDI 6M (gone but not forgotten).
I've just been quoted $3590 for Passat. Anyone know where I might still be able to get it cheap? A 50% price rise is insane - I hope it's not reflecting projected VW unreliability.
Update: After a bit of searching on the forum, first call made and mentioning this forum I was offered the official 36 months extended warranty for $1418. Purchased it on the spot and very happy.

I have the extended warranty on my CC and received the documentation the other day. Even though it was included in the vehicle price the policy did mention a figure of $1106 so anything more than that is simply dealer markup.

Most of this is available in a sticky in the Mk5 Golf and Jetta section but for Passat drivers this is my experience.
Called both Jaz Hokin (02) 4254 2000 at VW Wollongong (Southern Classic Cars) and Jamil Syeed (02) 9808 9700 at Denlo Volkswagen Parramatta.
Jamil was a little harder to reach (business manager) but both were equally courteous and helpful. 5 minutes of questions about the vehicle, mentioned that I was refered by members of the VWW site and the quoted RRP of $2212 became $1417 with Jaz and $1288 with Jamil straight up.
Within 30 minutes each had sent almost identical emails with the PDS attached, Just had to reply with the vehicle questions answered and provide credit card details and the deal was done.
I would recommend either person and the deal offered, it's just that Jamil's price is just a little ($129 may be a big difference for some) better.
