    Cool VW Cargo Management System

    Hi all

I've seen a few images and some references to the "Cargo Management System" thats available in some countries for the B6 Passat wagon (R36).

Its a rail system with two rails that are fitted to the floor and it has adjustable mounting points etc. It also appears to come with two adjustable barriers and one other with a strap system...

Anyway, it look very cool and I'd love to know where I can get one and is it possible to retro fit one...

    Ideas anyone??

From what I can gather, it's factory-fit only, and not available as a 'kit'.

In saying that, there looks to be part numbers for everything needed to retro-fit it, and there are a lot of parts to it.

Essentially, parts 60 through to 91 are required, and in multiple quantities in some cases.

One uncertainty, would be wether you can still use the existing inner quarter panel trims that accommodate for the front luggage tie-downs, as the brackets for the tracking setup, uses those mounting points.

It is possible, I fitted this from parts into my 2013 B7 Passat Wagon and i can say that it is the best mod that i have done.

Approx list of parts required, from memory there was a handle that i purchased but it wasn't required. I also purchased the BMW cargo retaining bar as it had inbuilt straps. I can find the part number if anyone is really interested in getting this going. Install took about 2 hours.

For anyone who is interested, this telescopic arm fits into vw rails without issue.

Part no. for BMW telescopic arm is 51477294566.

In BMW parts catalog it is called : "Adaptive Attachment System".

How much roughly did all of it cost is the big question. I thought of doing it but it seemed too expensive.

    Booba

I'm keen - I carry ****loads of equipment with me all the time - this is something I'd really like!

I wonder if VWAU would be able to source these parts, or should I look offshore?

    Great work too mate!

They probably won't have the bits locally, but their Singapore warehouse is only a 14 day wait.

I might print out the parts list, and leave it with my local dealer and see what's available and for how much.
