    Very rare Passat

    Hi all,

After months and months of waiting, finally the new Passat has arrived and we can all see what the Sport Package looks like.

Very happy the appearance and comfort - the extras in the Sport Package make a big difference to the look and feel of the car. It appears to have sports suspension and sits lower than the standard Tdi highline as you can see in the pics, this was an unexpected bonus and the ride is firm but still compliant.

It even has a towbar (as yet untested). I was really stressing over this towbar issue of the past few months as the lack of communication from VW was ridiculous. It seems all is well that ends well.

    Hope you like the photos...

Those wheels look better than what I thought. It can be really hard to tell what they are going to be like from a brochure

    Noice...

I was dithering between keeping the Vicensa, or swapping back to the original v6 weels like Ricker did... The have grown on me... but they also "look" like they have less metal in them... there has to be " a couple of tenths" in the quarter...

I have to say, I swapped to white from silver because I thought the black inlays on the wheel would go better and contrast with that (like a Golf R with black 19's) but the silver does scrub up nicely, works with the silver face of the wheel rather than contrast with the inlay... you proved me wrong Sportpacket... but I am on the candy white bandwagon now...

There was a limited edition in Germany (i posted a thread - about visualising the sportpack) and it was lowered, there was no mention anywhere on any VWA literature, maybe it has flowed through... wonder if the V6 is lower also?

Looks superb.... Almost a stealthy silver look with the blacked out sections on the Vicenza's...

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't too keen on the wheels initially when I learnt of the Sports Pack, and would have chosen the Kansas if I was given the choice. In the end, I quite like the look of the Vicenza's, especially on the silver wagon. I think the Kansas wheels make the Passat look a little more elegant and the Vicenza's a little more sporting. White & silver are by far the most attractive colours for the Sports Pack wagon, IMO, as the darker wheels look their best on the brighter colour cars.
Overall, the Sports Pack addresses the few missing details I really thought the car needed to make it genuinely appealing - the sport seats, flappy paddles, tint & 18" wheels. It's quite lucky that this pack became available just when I got serious about the Passat!
Finally, even though the Tdi is no match ultimately for the V6, I find the solid grunt from the diesel gives great performance in most situations and is good fun in it's own unique way. The economy is simply incredible...

    Very nice mate!

Do you know how much the car is lowered? Also have you test driven a standard highline? If so how much difference is there in ride quality (harsh/firm over bumps, etc)?

I'm only asking because Im thinking about lowering my Highline due to body roll, but don't wanna compromise the ride quality too much.

    Congrats anyway on the purchase

    Hi,
Congrats..When did you order this car anyway?/Also did the dealer give you some sort of tracking number to check the progress of your vehicle?
I ordered mine in NOvember 2011 and won't expect the car to arrive in May 2012 with sports pack...
I'm gonna try and go to dealership that has similar spec car to mine to have a look at it in person. I ordered a black sedan with the sports pack.

    Hi cru22z

if you go to the german site, Volkswagen Deutschland , you can go to the konfigurator and check it out... just pick the Passat "Exclusive"... pick your colour etc... looks good in black with those wheels too...

For those that are interested, the Passat Alltrack is now listed as well!

the original visualise the sportspack (coz VWA wont give you anything) is
