    VAGCOM updates

    Morning all,

My Passat has a date with an auto electrician this morning, to reactivate the airbags that were disabled while it was in the panelbeaters.

Presuming that they are reactivated through VAGCOM, is it worth asking what else can be displayed through the MFD? I've noticed on other posts, particularly about updating with the Fiscon bluetooth, that there seems to be a host of additional readings which can be shown, like oil pressure.

For anyone who's had it done, what sort of things have been shown and is it worth it? I'm expecting to have to shell out a few if I ask for the upgrade. Would the system still be OK if it's updated to allow for Bluetooth without actually having it installed?

    Cheers,

The additional stuff from Fiscon Bluetooth is displayed by a part of the Fiscon unit I believe - you can actually get that module on its own from them.

However it won't work if you have bluetooth that displays anything on the MFD/FIS.

So if you have the basic fiscon you have to upgrade it to the plus or pro or whatever version and you can't use it with the skoda bluetooth.

If you don't have any bluetooth and don't plan on adding it as swallowtail pointed out you can buy it separately in a module but it's very specific as to what cars it works with, much more so than the fiscon bluetooth version but they are supposed to be in the process of updating it.
