Is the V6 Sports Pack lowered a5mm or not?

    The header should read:
"Is the V6 Sports Pack lowered 15mm or not?" Can this be editted?

I have read conflicting statements on this issue, so does anyone know definitively? It's not a big deal, I just want to know.

Am trading my R36 Icelandic Grey Wagon for a Candy White V6 Highline Sports Pack with Auto Rear Gate and Satnav and am picking it up tomorrow.

No, it isn't... The V6 has Adaptive Chassis control & if the Sport packs -15mm suspension was added I expect there would be an effect on the adaptive chassis ratio's. However, I also expect on the V6, VW use a different susp setup than they do for the 4 cylinder 118tsi & 125tdi. Seems reasonable considering the addition of weight & 4 motion. This different susp I reckon is a touch lower than the standard susp used on the 4 cylinder engines maybe 5mm lower but not as low as the Sport susp -15mm.

Of the standard V6's I have seen compared to mine & others with the Sport pack the ride height isn't altered with the addition of the Sport pack.

You can tell for yourself anyway if you can compare side by side a V6 with Sport pack & a 125tdi (no adaptive chassis) with Sport pack. I have been able to compare & there is a small difference with the 125tdi being a bit lower.

Look at these links to V6 Passats on sale the silver car has the Sport pack the Icelandic Grey car doesn't. The ride height looks pretty much identical when you take into account lighting, colour & different wheel differences.

Thank you for your reply. I had my suspicions that the ride height was not lower, and from what you say and show, you look to be correct. Thanks for the info.

I did test drive the new V6 with Sports pack and it drove very well, tried the Sports setting and the comfort settings and it was all very nice, most impressed with it seems I won't be missing the R36. It also sounded better than my R36!! for some reason, a nicer burble when inside the car with windows up, whereas surprisingly, my R36 doesn't have much sound at all! I really like the look of the new model as well, with less overhangs and cleaner lines.
