turbocharging Passat R36

Hi All,

Does anyone have any knowledge on the availability/possibiltiy of turbo charging the Passat r36/Passat 3.6 engine?

There seems to be no places l can find in Australia that has this knowledge

I am interested in pricing and power output.

l know hgp is a german company who has packages. There price for the simplest version is $25000AUD that sounds a bit rich for me.

With the stock comp of the 3.6L motor you wouldn't be able to run anything over about 6-7psi without a rebuild to lower the comp ratio.....I had a very good look under the bonnet at the motor show with this idea in mind and there is alot of room around the headder area for a turbo setup....have you got anymore info on the HGP kit?

Another option is a rotrext setup.....I found a thread on r32OC with a mob in the US are making a kit for the Mk V R32 so a retrofit onto the R36 shouldn't be too hard.....

id stay away from anyone who doesnt know what they're doing. unfortunately you'll pay a massive premium because the car hasnt been out long, the fuel system is completely electronic and its a premium car. if i was to do it i would completely stick to companies such as hpa and hgp etc etc.
