I reckon you'd be better off buying a RS6 than spending all the time and money and enduring the frustration and problems and reliability issues you'd get when super or turbocharging an R36...

Exactly, I wouldn't bother doing any mod on such a nice car. IMO, if you want something SUPER FAST. You should go for the GTR or some supercar.

For eg. Like those rex on the road, equipped with super huge exhaust, may be a CAI, chipped etc. It only makes a tiny difference. Will the car FLY with all this mods. Will they beat a Lambo?? The answer is NO. Its waste of money. Would you modify a Ferrari or Lambo if you have one? In conclusion, if you really want a super fast car, save up and go for one of those. I would rather drive it super SLOW if I have a Lambo so people could see me and my car.

Speaking of which.......has anyone read the test drive by Motor recently on the GTR? WTF....a Nissan that eats 911 Turbos for breakfast!?!?!

I'd take one of those if it wasn't for practicality issues.....not to mention the inflated risk of getting a gun pointed in my face at traffic lights lolol.

Yeah, the GT-R is a seriously quick car.

When Nissan Australia get their act together and decide which dealers are going to be GT-R dealers, Dad will be ordering one. I'll almost certainly be banned from even looking at it.

I don't know why he wants it... he's old and something like an Aston or 911 or an M3 would be better for him, rather than some boy racer supercar from Japan.

How old is old? I'm "old" and I'd get a kick out of owning a car like that!

    Cheers

He'll be 70 this year, and to be perfectly honest I don't like driving with him because he can be a bit scary at times. He has major issues with kerbs, and recently he drove his Q7 in to a piece of wood he'd left in the garage and put a massive hole in the wheel arch that cost about a thousand bucks to fix...!

I definitely can't drive a GTR......well I can but I'll lose my licence in less than a week. The temptation to drag a WRX (or some other lame wannabe performance car that makes a lot of sound but not much else) at the lights would be too hard to resist.

LOL.....Thats exactly what I would do as well. So its better to stay away from these super cars to keep my license clean.

Lol mate in alot of cases those WRX's,Skylines etc with abit of work WILL beat a Lambo/Ferrari! (In a straight line anyway)

And you'd be suprised how many supercar owners modify their cars.. a very large minority if online forums are anything to go by.

FASTER IN STRAIGHT LINE = SHORTER IN LIFE = FASTER TO HELL.

You could be correct, modify a rex and beats any Lambo/ Ferrari. Chuck in shxtloads of mods and $$......At the end of the day, it is still a JAPANESE car and a SUBARU or a piece of plastic. NO CLASS at all. If i was driving a Ferrari and some WRX wanna race me straight line. I wouldnt bother looking at him, would I. We are in different level/class my friend.
