    TPMS replacement parts

Just recently purchased some new tyres since Bridgestone had a promotion of 4 for the price of 3 at Bridgestone tyre fitter. 3 tyres were successfully changed but one rim left bare after the value on the TPMS was damaged (questionably by them, but thats another story ).

So looks like a new TPMS is required to be ordered. Got a quote from VW (1K0 907 255C), and the price was a hefty $320. Whilst the part number VW provided doesn't seem to match (1K0 907 225B - different frequency), I'd assume the price would be in the same ball park.

Has anyone tried to purchase a replacement valve from Ebay or second hand TPMS and had them installed and operating successfully?

    Cheers

They are about AUD 65 delivered ex-USA. Set of 4 for ~AUD150.

Frequency is the same for B & C models - both 315Mhz - not sure what the other differences are.

Seems the B model is 434 Mhz. Which place was selling the set you referred to?

Sorry - misleading ebay listing lead me to believe they were 315Mhz.

Here's the listing I found but on closer inspection, depite searching for C revision it appears to be D revision.

Umy 08 has tyre pressure monitoring mate so yours would have to have it as well, unless they have been removed due to aftermarket wheels of course.

You will need 434 mHz versions if you want them working in AU. Been there, researched that. I did an install in some new rims which went onto my R36 wagon. They were still a pig to get working correctly.
