Hi, can I assume the same benefits can be gained from a B7 V6, given it has the same engine/DSG as the previous R36?
Great results mate! I'm happy that you're happy!

I cannot vouch for that but I'm enjoying its benefits on my R36 (so is Timlin)
I've heard that later versions of ECUs are harder to program as the ECU programming pins are not wired. They need to be removed and programmed externally.

I'm no expert on this matter at all, but I think I've read somewhere (on here I think) that yes, the engine & drivetrains are the same on theB7 V6's, they are geared with different ratios. I recall reading that at 100kmh the R36 was revving around 750rpm greater than the B7 models... If this matters or not, I don't know, but I did find it interesting nonetheless.
Good luck with it all, Peter from SuperChips is very good, and with a 100% money-back offer, you can't lose much really!

Hi All, Unfortunately I found out from Peter James that the gains on the B7 V6 models were minimal at best & probably don't justify the cost. He was honest & up front which was great. So back to the drawing board for me!!![]()

Peter's response is quite interesting! I wonder why there'd be little to no difference as the engines are essentially the same. Did he elaborate on any detail there? I wouldn't give up on getting it chipped, there's lots of companies who make brand specific chips etc, keep hunting, thats what I did and thats how I came across Peter and SuperChips in the first place...
One relatively cheap item that did give me slightly improved performance was my EVOMS V-Flow cold air intake. It also improved the noise factor a bit too! O got it from BWA in Seven Hills, Sydney, but I'm sure you'd be able to find one in Melbourne.
Good luck with it!

Hi Timlin, this is the response I got. I think although the mechanicals are similar between the B7 V6 & R36 there are other differences hindering the situation.
"I have even had a read off a DSG gearbox ecu off one to try and help the performance, but the knock system is very good on them, so any extra spark added just gets ramped back out again by the knock system. Probably not worth the effort"

Is someone able to give me the contact details for SuperChip? This thread makes for some interesting reading and has got me quite interested!!
Thanks
