I've got the same problem with my white B7 Passat. Parked outside day and night.
I recently purchased 'Wolf's Chemicals Decon Gel' from CarCareProducts in Five Dock. You basically spray it on all over the car and watch the magic happen. It goes on clear and if there's a reaction due to contaminents in the paint, it turns purple. Have a look at this link:

Once sprayed on, allow to dwell for 10 min. You can then either agitate (I was to scared to do this in fear of scratching the clear coat), or just rinse off with a pressure washer. You should then clay the car accordingly.
Speak to the guys at CarCarProducts, they will be more than helpful.
Sorry, I didn't take any pics when I did it. But once I sprayed it on the entire car, my white Passat turned Purple!
