    Thanks for the help. Off to Sydney and back over next few days. If it doesn't settle it will get put into service till fixed. Clearly something is out of spec. Cheers.

    Sydney trip made no difference. Tech checked again and agreed he felt it too. VW however said its normal for a B7 without emergency brake assist. Apparently mine charges the brakes ready for an emergency stop. This happens if there is a small break in between presses of the pedal. Looks like the pedal resistance is normal....
