That was the question I was going to ask this morning... if the Dynaudio needed to burn in... I improved things somewhat by fading forward, the closest speaker to my head is the tweeter in the back door behind me...

The staging is great, tweeters in the door sails will allways do that, but the imaging was terrible until i put it two clicks forward... the passat windscreen is close to the driver, with the tweets in the sails the ratio of left ear to left tweet over right to right is around 3 to 1, so the imaging has improved from terrible to "not so good"...

Jazz sounds good, flamenco sounds good, not much else at the moment... a good test for bottom end is Regurgitator , Unit, I will lick.... but at the moment there aint nothing there....

How long do I have to wait? (many thanks for your reply)

Okay.... panicked email to my mate with a Mk6 Golf R with Dynaudio... knowing he is an audio freak, how could he possibly let me blow my cash on the Dynaudio having lived with it himself... so what was his settings?

Treble - minus everything , +4 mid +2 bass... what the?

Hit the forums, a lot of - 8, minus everything, - 4...

All my audio gear is either direct or neutral everything... 30 yold sony 2 channel amp, audio direct (bypass all control) though Celestion bookshelves sound awsome, same amp driving some large yamaha patio speakers (audio direct) sounds awesome... My TV is permanently bypassed, the HD foxbox drives a 6.1 Marantz amp with Jamo speakers and sub, completely neutral , sounds awesome... nothing is particularly audiophile, but hey i like it....

The point is , i am more than happy to listen to music the way the dude in the booth intended... Neutral in the dynaudio.... deadset atrocious, WTF? how could they possibly design it that way?? anyhow I have wound the treb off completely then backed it off one click(posibly psychological) + 4 on the mid and neutral bass ... and now it sounds like the potential may be there once the driver's burn in.

Run it neutral and it feels like you are clearing the wax out of your ears with a diamond tipped drill bit.

Anyhow, this arvo it didn't kill me, and this morning i drove to work stereo off and roof open... man that engine is Rorty! that is a soundtrack!
