I will... I usually put my bag full of university crap on the passenger seat and sometimes it's ehavy enough to make the car remind me that it's not belted in!
I'm new to this thread so thought i could add some value..[controversy more likely]
Really cannot handle the annoying chimes from the seat belt . So it turns out you can simply UNPLUG the 2 way connector under the seat.
there is a small tab that you need to push in ( on the right hand side- push left) before you are able to pull out the connector. its tight in there even with the seat raised, you're guaranteed to scrape knuckles.
Anyway, i KNOW there will be the usual bunch carrying on about this- but don't waste your breath- I DO wear my seat belt, just have a habit of doing it up after ive backed out of my long skinny driveway. And some people will find this helpful.

Same here. Although if you try to make sure that your bag isn't resting on the middle part of the seat it seems to help.
Or maybe I should just put it's seatbelt on so it feels nice and safe

You can prolly achieve a cleaner solution with software change... possibly disable the chime while in reverse only?? I'm sure someone here will have an answer....
BTW perhaps a pic of the forementioned connector and location may assist others

It can be easily disabled in VCDS (Vag-com).

www.ross-tech.com or just google ross-tech and find more options, for me the safest was to buy genuine ross-tech cable and the software from OZ distributor. Others faund that the e-bay cable does the job too.

i thought it only chimed once you were doing over about 20kmh???
it wont chime in reverse either.....
legally you are only required to wear your seatbelt over 20kmh and going forwards.
