I did the same not that long ago, but luckily it was relatively minor. Depending on how fussy you are, you might want to consider getting it fixed before you sell your car as you are likely to do it again some time after spending $$ and then you have to do it all again.
I am worried I will experience scratching a bit over the next few years and am considering fitting some aftermarket rims in the same size so I can use the tyres, rather than spending money on repairs. When I'm ready to eventually sell the car I simply put the (unscratched) originals back on and sell the aftermarkets on ebay and get some money back. This could likely work out to less than $ 200 per wheel in the end and it doesn't matter how many times you scratch the aftermarkets...... Food for thought, good luck with whatever you end up doing.
