VGA started ommiting them from Australian-delivered cars a few years ago, presumably to keep the build cost down.
It's all good and well to have one and use it (and I encourage it), but the average car user wouldn't know what it was and meant, if they saw one placed behind a stricken vehicle anyway.

Yep. BJB exactly....
OEMParts.com came back with a better offer of $125 for postage on genuine triangle and first aid kit. I think I'll wait to find a cheaper supplier.
I went to the dealer spare parts shop. They found the part number and ordered it. The price was reasonable for a dealer as well. This was for my R32 at the time.

Our B7 (2014) came with the triangle. VW part # 3C5860251 , Germany GBA. It also has stamped on it: Trimec CDs. E13 in a circle and then 27R034011. It suggests to place the triangle 100m from the car.
Our Golf did not come with the triangle.
I often see trucks on the highway parked with a triangle.

I fitted a warning triangle in the boot of my B6 sedan, triangle i brought off a person in Sydney, but the bracket from the CC will not fit a regular B6 sedan, so I went the VW dealer here in Adelaide and after a few attempts, finally received it. Cutting into the boot lid liner was nerve racking, but it does look good. You can also order the screws needed to hold it in place as well. When my wife's car had a flat type on the way home from work, I just had to set the triangle up, wife complaining in the background, but I was happy. As a side point, the warning triangle from a B5 Passat sedan will not fit the B6, different bracket and the triangle is larger, I know because I have one, so if anyone needs a triangle and bracket for a B5, seen me a PM. Peter.
